We intend to explain some of the science behind the things which make the big cats so special. These include coat colour, roaring and their distinctive eyes. Some of these features are unique to the big cats (the Panthera genus: lion, tiger, jaguar and leopard) and some are shared with more familiar cats, like the domestic cat.
